A day in the Bay!

The Port Stephens region, often referred to by the locals as “The Bay”, is known for its beautiful beaches, wide variety of adventure activities and its coastal town atmosphere. But what makes it so special to us? And why should you bring your besties here for your next getaway? Find out in our insider scoop below!

Brunch and coffee at The Little Nel

If you’re looking for the best breakfast place in the Bay, we’ve got just the local insider tip for you. Located just minutes from our humble abode, The Little Nel is the perfect place to fuel up for the day. With a wide range of menu items such as the banana custard waffles, eggs benny or a classic egg and bacon roll (with a deliciously deluxe twist), there’s something to treat everyone’s tastebuds. And if that wasn’t enough to win you over, the presentation of their food is… just wow - talk about Insta worthy.

Tomaree Mountain walk

It’s no secret that the Bay is one of the most beautiful regions of NSW and what better spot to take in all of its beauty than at the peak of a mountain! Tomaree Mountain offers breath-taking 360-degree views of the Bay and is a great activity for those who love to get out and explore the wilderness. While the view is truly something else, the walk-up is definitely no walk in the park - so remember your walking shoes. Once you arrive at the top though, the walk is 100% worth it.

Beach swim at Dutchies

With your stomachs full and the nature walk completed, it’s time to take a short walk down from The Loft for a dip in the beautiful Dutchmans beach. The pristine blue water and white sand are like something from a postcard - keep this treasured memory to yourself or share its beauty online with loved ones [although we can guarantee they’ll be super jealous]. Use this time to sit back, relax and feel super grateful for our Australian coastlines!

Afternoon drinks & dinner at Atmos

If you’re a foodie like us [welcome to the club], you just have to visit the newly opened, authentic greek restaurant - Atmos. Our personal obsession with Atmos started when we read about the story behind its creation - to encourage a social experience with large share dishes and beautifully paired, Greek-inspired cocktails. This ethos is everything we enjoy about eating out with friends so we’re so excited that our guests have a place like this just minutes from The Loft. Having only opened earlier this month, it has quickly become of the bay’s go-to spots for afternoon drinks and dinner, but don’t forget to reserve a table!
